Pininski: understand whatever you need

Holly crap! I totally admired Liam Pininski. This guy is so strong. If you have ever read his paper on "Estimation of entropy and multual information", you will get the same conclusion with me.

The spotlight point is , this guy never get a degree in statistics or mathmetics, but he has shown so good expertise and insights in statistical research, including the theoretical perspective of Probability skills. All theorems are so beautiful and presented nicely. It's amazing that he comes from the neuroscience background and get an academic job in Statistics department in Columbia.

Who said you only need to get familiar with your major and you only need to concentrate on your major courses? Pininski gave us a very good example on you should learn what you need and believe you can even learnt as an expert in that field if you want. The only constraint is your thought, such as you haven't learnt that course so you couldn't do research related to that field. You can learn by yourself!

He is a hero in his world, a brave man who keep the mathematical sword at hand and attack the problems in front of him.

Like him, walk straight.
