Note: Scores represent the number of NSF Graduate Research
Fellowship Program (GRFP) award offers to students at each
graduate institution during the period 2000-2009, from the total
9,587 GRFP awards made during the 10-year period. It is intended
to supplement more traditional metrics based on institutional
research expenditures and similar measures, which have certain
weaknesses. The metric aims to capture the choices of the nation's
top science and engineering graduate students, reflecting which
institutions they believe offer them the best graduate research
training and cutting-edge academic research opportunities.
